Sworn duty
The Oath & Commission
Before a Wisconsin notary may perform a single act, they swear an oath to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Wisconsin, and to faithfully discharge the duties of the office.

Oath of Office
"I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of the office of Notary Public to the best of my ability."
Keywon C. Brown · State of Wisconsin
What that oath means here
Impartiality
I serve the document and the law, not the person paying for the appointment. Every signer is treated the same way.
Diligence
Personal appearance, current identification, correct certificate wording, legible seal, complete journal entry, every time.
Confidentiality
What is on a document, and who signed it, stays between the parties. Forensic interview records are kept by initials and case number only.
Availability
The office only helps people if the notary shows up. I make myself available to the agencies and families who need this work done right.
The commission
Issued by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions under Chapter 140, Wisconsin Statutes, for a term beginning September 4, 2026 and expiring September 3, 2030.
