Cops for Kids Appropriations Committee
Putting community dollars directly into children's hands.
About the organization
Cops for Kids raises and distributes funds so that local children have what they need, clothing, gear, camp fees, holiday gifts, and support in moments when a family cannot cover the gap.
The appropriations committee reviews requests and decides where the money goes, weighing urgency, fairness, and long-term impact.
Officers see need before anyone else does. A small, fast grant at the right moment can change how a child sees themselves, and how they see the people wearing the badge.
My role
- More than five years reviewing and approving requests for assistance.
- Advocated for quick, dignified support with as little red tape as possible.
